Get your sh*t together IB...you guys gotta really fix your data feed/charting.

If you're concerned about losing access for a few mins because of the reset you might try switching to their Asian server in TWS around that time. I think that they do the Asia server's reset at a different time as otherwise in would occur during the last hour of cash equity trading in Tokyo.
Will not help as Asian servers have the same reset, I think around noon EST. it is not a huge issue for us but does mess us up from time to time. We are fully automated, and algo sometimes tries to submit an order shorty past midnight and this is when issues happen, IB can not process it or processes the order but stops can not be set and etc. I immediately get alerted by our monitoring software, wake up and need to deal with this manually. Just a bit annoying.

I've been having none of these problems either with data lags or with the performance of the oft-maligned TWS, which I think is a great platform once you learn how to configure it.

I have reason to suspect that the issues most of you guys are experiencing are with your Internet service provider as some ISPs may treat that kind of data traffic differently. In my experience the delivery technology may also be a factor. I am currently on a 200-Mbs FTTC + VDSL line and I haven't experienced any issues even at the busiest times this week, arguably one of the craziest trading weeks in several months. Also you might want to try using a VPN as it might help in some cases.

good point, I forgot to mention that all our servers are on the cloud and and no ISP issues at all there.

For what it's worth currently and for the last few months the reset on IB's western servers has been occurring between 00:30 and 00:40 ET. I know this because I often wake up around that time and check the last half hour of trading in Tokyo on my iPad (the cash market closes at 01:00 ET)

Sometimes at bit sooner around 00:15 but yes around this time give or take. It is socking that such Tech savy broker can not fix resets. Def confirmed that is is very complex for some reason. We moved majority of our trading to FC Stone. IB for the most part of is back up and soon all our trading will be at FC with IB active for backup
Purpose only.

you absolutely right. I just looked at statement. Not sure how I did not notice it before.

I mostly deal with trading. Another partner deals with paperwork.

Yeah, I noticed as I lived in Chicago for several years, which is where their roots are, although over the years it's grown into a huge company through acquisitions and they're now headquartered in NYC I think.

Anther things about StoneX (will use this name from now on :D) is their margins are better than IB. Not that it matters for us much but not a bad thing.

You're wrong. I talked to IB when the issue happened yesterday and they confirmed that something was going on on their end.

But I guess my question to you is is what's your layout like. Users like me who have lots of charts. Particularly multiple time frames of the same ticker. Experience the slow loading and attempting to fetch data notice. There's something about their servers and tws that can't handle fetching multiple lines of data for the same ticker at the same time.

I'm on a dedicated fiber line with consistent up and down speeds. If I can stream 4k video seamlessly I should be able to stream the 0's and 1's necessary to populate some damn bar graphs
