Suprise suprise germany refusing to intergrate on any meaningful level and rejecting the main mechanism of stability, every country must give something they scream but the truth is the only thing they are happy to give is orders and legislation to other countrys that gives them the advantage, happy to sit on the sidelines and consume all the advantages they can get their hands on without a thing given in return.

Greek people starving? Serves them right!
Apply the standard tools of a currency union to created stability? Thats communism!!!

Are you mistyping country names here? Germany has given more than any other country in Europe. Not a single , I repeat, not one (!!!) Non Greek citizen in europe has ever seen a single penny from Greece. Nothing. Nada. Nichts. Niet.

Greeks can man up and start to share into the burden of hard work or be called savages and bullies and go it their own way. Everything else is BS talk by those who get paid to open their mouths.

Germany needs to "man up" and accept eurobonds, there will be a real, functional currency union and everything that comes with that or there will be a failed, mainly german and french experiment. Want to share a currency with your european freinds? Then you have to share a lot more, you can no longer have your cake and eat it.
 
Unconfirmed rumours that todays meeting is canceled..if this is extended into next week germany and the eu has become a joke of even more epic proportions, the eu, global experts of having meetings...meetings...meetings...meetings..
 
I'm telling you guys, without political union, monetary union is next to impossible. The EU and the Euro *cannot* reasonable work long term in a fair manner to all parties involved.
 
Yep, single currency single country, liabilities of the greeks are the liabilities of the germans, dont like it then leave.
 
Sure Germany and most of the productive economies will immediately befriend themselves with Eurobonds as soon as the unproductive countries have decided to "man up" and provide their fair share of the responsibility cake. Before that, no, thank you.

Germany has done its fair share, please answer, what has Greece done? Whom have they benefitted outside their own country? Care to explain?

I tell YOU something else, a monetary union is possible without political/fiscal union. Proof? How about 25 years, the EMU first stage was introduced in 1990. Or how about 16 years of common currency.

But I tell you what does not work: A union where a few members reject the idea that everyone has to provide and add value, everyone has responsibilities. Greeks have not added any value so far whatsoever. Spain has participated in the fight against terrorism, it has embarked on reforms, it has made cuts to its welfare system in order to restore the viability of its economy again. Spain made significant contributions. What has Greece ever done? They have consumed subsidies, they have received structural and training support, financial support, bailouts, money as much as it pleased them, they have never meaningfully participated in any peace keeping missions, they hardly donate money to any worthy cause for generations, they cannot be considered a meaningful Nato partner member state. Without the willingness to participate and carry a share of the burden a union does not work.

Greeks can fuxx off and if it was about me (which it is not) they can declare sovereign bankruptcy upon which they will be kicked out of the EMU and EU and they can kiss up to the Russians and Chinese. Europe will be able to cope with the written off debt. And even some of our Jewish American banker friends who fear a "global fallout and devastating contagion" should be able to cope. Unfortunately this is not gonna happen. Instead there will be more bailouts and more concessions and more lies and more cheating. Outright depressing.

They defaulted 5 times before that too which is why the rest of the world looks at germany and shakes its head, in their superstate seeking fanaticism the CLEAR SCREAMING OBVIOUS UNSUITABILITY of greece to join was pushed aside, and now you pay or you lose union :)
 
vp, we're not necessarily in disagreement. As I said: "fair to all parties involved."

It's not surprising one bit Goldman Sachs is somehow involved in this bullshit from the beginning.
