what is your point? after the war the US made the decision that stalin and the communists were the biggest threats. a stable pro west Germany was the political goal. it was achieved.
My point is that forcing austerity on a country can lead to political instability. Fortunately the world leaders post WWII recognized this and didn't approach Germany from a pure technocratic viewpoint. In historic perspective the wish of the Greeks for a haircut is quite common.
