LONDON (MarketWatch) -- Germany's Ifo index posted an unexpectedly large jump in July, offering further evidence of the strength of the euro zone's largest economy.
The business climate index jumped to 106.2, up from a reading of 101.8 in June, the Munich-based Ifo Institute reported Friday.
Economists had forecast a decline to 101.5.
