1994 was, at the time of this 2015 article, the record year for migrants to Germany. In theory the country should have been destroyed 20 years ago.
My in-laws have a paper copy of Bild. They are in their 80s and order to be shipped over here along with their hometown weekly papers. It's a recent article. When I get home from Canada I will see if I can drop by their place and scan it. The article was basically making the case that the recent refugees didn't want to work but the earlier guest workers very much wanted to work.
Germany has had a difficult problem integrating the Turkish guest workers into their society. They are now three generations into this, and many guest workers are still not part of mainstream German society. This problem should give pause to German society if they have any chance of successfully integrating the current one million refugees. I do give credit to Germany for accepting these refugees, however I think it is going to backfire on them very badly - which will lead to a change of government & policy.

it is not xenophobic to state that open border immigration policies are bad for a country. Its common sense. Especially if a percentage of the immigrants wish to blow you up and your government's screening abilities are not able to distinguish the terrorists from those who wish to make a positive contribution to your society.

I will say it again. Ferguson was rioting and looting over the shooting of a crazed thug who tried to kill a Police Officer while in the line of duty. The Police officer was trying to apprehend the criminal when he was viciously attacked by the thug. Since he was African-American, the whole town went nuts and almost destroyed the whole city in a violent fit of rage. If the thug had been any other race you never would of even heard of it.
