Most Georgia residents still stayed at home after the "stay at home" order was lifted. Georgia only had a 8.5% reduction in the people staying at home after the re-opening in early May when compared to the proportion of residents who stayed home during the peak period of sheltering in place.
Those who think that a large portion of the state stopped staying at home after Governor Kemp ended the stay at home order are clearly mistaken. Most people did not start shopping in malls and going around town. In fact most malls are still completely empty in Georgia except for the few stores that sold the latest hot Air Jordan sneaker. Many leaders of towns and cities in Georgia are still urging their residents to stay home; obviously most are complying.
