Georgia, we ain't dumb

Should try for American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands, and the United States Virgin Islands too.I think they are all liberal.

Not only is it Senate seats but House seats and EC votes as well.
Immigration reform is more likely. Expedite citizenry provision for Dreamers, that's close to a million votes.

We shall see. It will be interesting to see what happens. The last time Dems had everything, we got Obamacare - not sure that worked out so well. Other than that, what else did we get back then? I honestly do not recall.

One thing I'll say is I'm going heavy in inflationary trades (shorting the 10yr, long commodities, TIPS and ....*gasp* even crypto). The dollar is toast.

I’d be careful with all of that. Where I would look at shorting is tech. Dems do have an anti monopoly agenda.

I used to posh crypto but I’m starting to see its usefulness in some markets like Africa and the Middle East.

Historically, stocks and the economy grow and sustain under democrat control for various reasons you probably won’t agree with. But the damage from this pandemic isn’t fully understood yet and we don’t know the structural damage it has caused both domestically and internationally. I’m very cautious right now. We can go two ways and both sharply.

First of all, you have to assume that if Democrats pass a bill, corporate America is already on board. After all, have you ever browsed OpenSecrets.org? Have you ever truly looked at how many democrat politicians get funded by corporate America? You should. You seem to believe that the GOP is the only party with politicians that get donations and are influenced by corporate America.

So lets assume that legislation actually gets passed that corporate America ISN'T on board with. Your suggested challenge routine isn't as cut and dry as you make it out. Challenges require legal precedent - and that's assuming the SCOTUS decides to hear the challenge. Unless something is going against the Constitution, in which case it SHOULD be stomped on.
I'm sure our forefathers foresaw & believed money is speech when they wrote the 1st and SCOTUS so wisely ruled in citizens united.

He seems very healhty and energetic.I could see him wanting another term unless his health goes downhill in the next 4 years.

It’s possible but these next two years won’t hurt his re-election chances four years from now.

Take it easy here. Republicans get much of their corporate donations through undisclosed dark money to super pacs.

Corporations and especially Corporate owners show their democrat donations but hide the Republican donations. It’s a shell game.

I'm not saying they don't. All I'm saying is to pretend that Democrats are supposedly the champions of the people and the protectors from Corporate America, is asinine and foolish. Would you like me to start posting some very real and very large examples of Democrat politicians who get their funding from Corporate America? This will be quite easy to do if you'd like.

After seeing other States like LA,Fl and AR getting rid of thier moderate Dem Senators I can see Manchin being voted out for what he does now.I can see Manchin seeing the same if he wants another term and not cooperating with Dems.Hes open to statehood for new states they need to go for that not only now but for the future as well.

Interestingly, those Dems that don't take corporate money are cast as dimwit radicals by cons on this board.

You can list anything you want. As I said corporate donations to democrats are as much about public relations as they are about policy agenda. Where these donations run afoul is in the unlimited dark money super pacs. That’s where you see the massive donations from real estate and Wall Street.

Time for the blame...

Angry Republicans blame Trump for their party's Georgia implosion

Republicans are on track to lose both Georgia Senate runoff elections -- and many are saying that President Donald Trump is to blame.

With Rev. Raphael Warnock projected to win and fellow Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff in a strong position to pull off a victory, GOP strategists fumed to Politico that Trump sabotaged their chances of holding the Senate with his constant attacks on Georgia's Republican governor and secretary of state.

"Trump is the cause of this, lock, stock and barrel," said one GOP strategist.

Another Republican strategist said that Trump's decision to make the Georgia elections all about himself pushed Democrats to the polls in record numbers for a runoff election.

"He is the Dems' best base animator," explained the strategist. "Look at how high turnout was on their side compared to historical trends. Look at how much their candidates raised. He steps back after Election Day and denies them that oxygen. He didn't."

Another Republican told Politico that Ronna McDaniel, who is Trump's hand-picked leader of the Republican National Committee, should fall on her sword for the disastrous Georgia results.

"I think the blame will be spread around, but a party chairman losing a presidential election and losing the Senate majority should, out of honor, offer her resignation even if the committee doesn't accept it," they said.
