No, I think companies should endeavor to be good corporate citizens and show a moral conscience. That's what leadership is about. You can then either patronize them or not, depending on your preference. The Georgia initiative is an outrageous frontal assault on the First Amendment. Period.
There are endless examples of government using its power to reward or punish companies for their conduct, eg Executive Orders requiring government contractors to push affirmative action, gay rights, etc. You don't mind states enforcing boycotts of other states whose policies they dislike. You don't seem to have a problem with any of those interferences with the First Amendment.
I find it curious that liberals are up in arms about the legislature deciding not to grant an outrageous tax benefit to one company. There was in fact significant opposition to this political payoff. Delta's clumsy attempt to virtue signal by punishing NRA members merely galvanized more objections.
As has been reported, the Governor and Lt. Governor of Georgia were pushing this tax giveaway until it became obvious it would not pass. Then they attempted to change sides. I'm sure they will back next session with another version of it.
The lesson here is simple. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.
