People didn't support the man Zimmerman as much as they supported his right to carry a gun and protect himself in the Trayvon incident. No reasonable defense lawyer within the U.S. would ever recommend that someone accused of murder take the stand in their own defense in a case that does not involve a domestic situation.

The percentage of defendants taking the stand in their own defense in manslaughter, homicide, and murder cases is no greater than 25% (in non-domestic cases).

You're mixing up the guilty and the innocent alike. Most defense attorneys say they prefer not to know whether or not their client did it. I'm talking about the truly innocent client. He almost always takes the stand because he insists on doing so. It's the guilty ones who hesitate and play the odds like Z-boy did. Just another OJ.

Well, aren't you a disagreeable person! You don't agree with the jury now, is that it? You, from a distance, with info from MSNBC, know better than the jury that was presented with proper evidence? Maybe you disagree with the jury system itself and would rather see jackbooted militia with orders from the Premiere himself to the scene?

You obviously don't know any defense attorneys worth more than $1.25. I've never met a defense attorney who wanted to put their client on the stand whether guilty or innocent. And btw, to your comment above. Every defense attorney I've ever met ALWAYS wanted to know if their client was guilty or not. NO defense attorney wants a surprise pulled out in the middle of a trial.
