CREW Blasts Pelosi Endorsement of Unethical Murtha for Majority Leader
Washington, DC - Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) questioned soon-to-be House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) commitment to eradicating corruption with her endorsement of one of the most unethical members in Congress, Rep. John Murtha (D-PA), to be Majority Leader of the House of Representatives.

Rep. Murtha was listed in CREW's report Beyond DeLay: The 20 Most Corrupt Members of Congress (and five to watch). As reported in the study and by the news media, Rep, Murtha has been involved in a number of pay-to play schemes involving former staffers and his brother, Robert "Kit" Murtha.

Eight incumbents in CREW's report lost their races to ethics issues.

abscam??? if memory serves me, he said no to the money. bottomline, they don't like him because this hawk is cooing like a dove right now. it will be very difficult to escalate the middle east war with someone like murtha in power. they already knocked off weldon... i guess the "able danger" comments nailed his coffin shut.

lets not forget what happened to wellstone pre iraq. if you are anti-war before an election and there is saber rattling... don't fly!!!!!!!!!

You're forgetting a salient point. Murtha's status as an "unindicted co-conspirator" in the Abscam scandal was LONG BEFORE Iraq! No need for the GOP to spin or manufacture stories about Murtha. He's been in one scandal after another. The GOP should do a better job of publicizing this stuff though. Between Murtha and Hastings the Democrat's have a chance to place both an "unindicted co-conspirator" and an impeached Federal Judge as Chairmen of House Committees. How grand. Now keep harping about Mark Foley........

Business as usual. SURPRISE!!! Can't figure out people arguing Dems vs Reps. Naive,naive, naive.
First prediction I make here. NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE.Look at the market how much it cares.

P.S. There is a good article in BusinessWeek (except one point). They are right saying Washington matters less and less( fortunately).
Instead of listening what Washington whores have to say follow the Forex. It will keep you informed and up to date.

"Unindicted co-conspirator" makes as much sense as Pabst becoming Pa(b)st Prime (heck, Pabst even stole my idea to do it).
