Thanks for the heads up... I'll be tuning in! Do you have a pick yet for the race, Spyder?
I root for Gordon too, he's a heck of a talent. For the most part, I go for the veterans that aren't signed w the big owners, the underdogs so to speak. I don't have an absolute fave though... I don't worship Jr, and I don't hate Busch! I wish it was more driver vs. driver than Hendrick vs. Roush, even though I like most of the drivers on the teams.Quote from Spydertrader:
In 1995, I attended my very first NASCAR Race at Michigan International Speedway (M.I.S.). Friends of my father started a pool among the various fans camped out next to the track. For twenty dollars, you drew two driver names from a baseball cap. The pool paid out half for the winning name and half for the last place name. I drew Sterling Marlin and a young wunderkind by the name of Jeff Gordon. While Gordon didn't win the race that day, he often battled for the lead until a late race "mysterious caution flag for debris" trapped him in the pits - one lap down. I recall thinking then, damn this kid is good. I have been a Jeff Gordon fan ever since that day, and four Nextel / Winston Cups later, I remain a fan to this day. Although Gordon already has his spot locked in for the Daytona 500 (he qualified second), I'll still be rooting for him to win both Today and Sunday. Who do you root for?

P.S. Rusty Wallace won the race that day back in 1995 driving the Miller Genuine Draft Car.

I really am the only one who doesn't "hate" him!! LOL! 1:59pm. Time to turn on the TV. Boogity... boogity... boogity (sp)???Quote from Spydertrader:
A few 'Old School' Fans of Dale Earnhardt (The Man in Black, not the son) instructed me on the Karma Rule while attending the Southern 500 at Darlington several years back. They considered it 'bad form' to root for a driver (you hated) to experience some sort of mishap while on the track racing. As a result, I don't root for Kurt Busch to have an up close and personal conversation with the outside retaining wall. However, The Karma Rule does not prohibit the expression of contentment should the aforementioned incident occur.
Let's Go Racing!
