Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!!

I agree the whole thing appeared to be "one of them thar racin' deals" and really can't see NASCAR taking away the victory. However, expect to hear plenty of profanity laced tirades (and possibly more than a few Budweiser cans tossed onto a track) should a similar incident take place in the future, and NASCAR chooses to 'see' things a little differently. We all know the brass down in Daytona doesn't often showcase 'consistency' as part and parcel of their daily skill sets.

Anyhow, we have short track night racin' this week at Richmond. Time for the 24 to kick start his season. I wouldn't mind seeing a Junior victory either. The boy is due.

I can't believe it. Jr. almost had it. I wonder how deliberate it was on Busch's part? If it hadn't been for the caution on Hamlin, Jr probably would have won.

Larry Mac is full of it. It looked to me like Junior cut down on him. I would have liked to see an overhead view. Anyway, this was clearly one of those racing deals. If you take the high line, that is the risk you run. Busch is crazy, but I don't think he would try to take out the 88 when he clearly had a faster car. Another lap or two and he was going to pass Junior.
 
I think Hamlin bringing out that caution was pretty suspicious. He rides around for several laps after he thinks he has a flat and then when he decides to pull up instead of getting on the inside and onto pit road he pulls up to the wall and stops bringing out the caution - and helping his teammate.

It was hard to tell if Busch turned his wheels because he was getting loose. I really couldn't see that he was losing control. But it's also hard to imagine he would do it deliberately because he's not going to have a chance to win after that. On a bump and run, the car doing the bumping can still win but not with contact like they had.
 
I like racing, more Indy then nascar.

I see week after week it is the same 30 drivers. Of course, each race has its own drama.

But I think it gets tiresome. It would be like watching the same 2 teams playing every week. Imagine if all you saw was the Celtics and Bulls play every weekend.
 
I think Busch just painted a big fat bullseye on his car.

Casey Mears needs to step up, take one for the team, and send a message. Drop the gloves like a hockey enforcer.

Last week was Johnson's fault. He lost it by moving up and giving Busch a 1/2 lane to get his nose in. Too bad Jimmy, you f'ed up.

But overall, the Hendrick's team play has sucked this year. Like at Talladega, Jr and Gordon were steaming up the outside all on their own, and Jr dropped down in front of another guy and hung Gordon out to dry. I don't blame Gordon AT ALL for commenting on Jr's move.
