What a bogus ending to Bristol. Hamlin and Stewart are set for a 1-2 finish, then that moron Harvick takes out his supposed best buddy Stewart, then RCR cars end up 1-2-3 after the ensuing green-white-checker. The only chance the RCr cars had was a yellow and Harvick gave it to him. I wish Stewart had deliberately wrecked someone the minute the green fell on the restart, thus ending the race.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I don't think Harvick's stunt was so blatant as to get a penalty from the braindead airheads who run NASCAR, but he certainly deserves a garage area beatdown, which in the old days he would certainly have received.

I really think NASCAR needs to consider a rule that if you cause a caution, you have to go to the end of the longest line. Having reviewed that situation again, I'm not going to say it was intentional but it was very sloppy. Harvick immediately mentioned the Indy incident between him and Smoke last year when asked about it, leading me to believe he wasn't feeling very guilty.
There was also the incident in the Nationwide race a few weeks back where Mark Martin spun out Edwards at the end and won. I don't think sending him to the end of the line would have been at all unfair.

The 'Go-Kart' Track I race at now and then has a similar rule. If you spin someone out, they go to the end of the line, and you restart behind them. As a result of this rule, the 'payback' bumps still happen, but at a cost. It seems to work well keeping everyone in check - and we don't race for millions of dollars.

NASCAR doesn't want to do anything that encourages drivers to settle for a top five and not go all out for the win. They feel there is too much points racing as it is.
The problem is they do penalize retaliation, and sponsors do not like garage area punchouts. So morons like Juan Pablo tend to be repeat offenders.

Last year, Mikey added 'some gooey substance' to his fuel at Daytona. This year, a part 'accidently' made its way to Mikey's garage. Damn sway bars are always 'sproutin' wings' and flying off to a rival garage. They should tie those things down.
