anyone ever been there and can you give me the do's and don'ts??
I've been down in the Dominican Republic for the last week, so I apologize for missing your post.
If possible, obtain tickets for seats as high up in the grandstands as availability permits. Stay away from the backstretch seats - you can't see as well from back there. If you have a motorhome / RV try the campground to the right of the track (Turn 1). Full hookups exist at that campground without paying an arm and a leg.
Look to spend all day Saturday at the track enjoying the vendor activities (rock Climbing Wall, NASCAR games, Show car pictures, etc) as the vendors and sponsors
really pull out all the stops at Talladega.
If you plan to travel from the North of the speedway, bypass Interstate 20 (when leaving) and follow Route 77 North to Interstate 59. Route 77 provides a little known short cut which allows you to avoid most of the race traffic.
If you can get the higher up seats, don't let anyone talk you into buying infield tickets. You can enter the infield for the party, and return to your (much better) seats when the race begins.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
Go #24 Dupont Chevy tonight!! Let's grab that Phoenix win!!
