Where would you rather spend a weekend...
Talledega or Monaco
I'll take those pointy nose cars anytime. They represent pure engineering excess.
The modern F1 car is the last form of purely extravagant and challenging engineering left.
We used to have IMSA and Lemans, but now those are just shells.
F1 is where everyone comes and brings their A games.
Toyota will race in Nascar as a marketing tool, let's not kid ourselves. They will not learn anything that hasn't been learned or will be applicable to future automobiles.
Toyota has spent over a Billion in F1 and will continue to do so. They love the engineering challenge it represents.
F1 is at its heart about engineering passion, precision, simply the fastest form of racing in the world.
Of course I guess 500 million euros spent every year will achieve those results.
My dream is we would have Americans that were that passionate about racing spend an equal amount of money, and see what we could bring to the table.
I am not going to be the one who starts another war over something as trivial as different forms of racing, but it 's always been my desire to see what America could really bring to the table if we wanted to.
Nascar will never represent the advancement that F1 continues to achieve. From that standpoint and many others I find it underwhelming.
I know there are many on the other side of that equation, so let me not be the one who claims one over the other.
I just needed to speak up for those pointy noise cars.
BTW spyder I love your journal. Keep u the good work
