..Anyways, I wouldn't be surprised at all if nascar gave Lester's car a bit of extra juice on qualifying day.
Nascar has been promoting and working on getting more "other than white" people involved in the sport both in fan base and in drivers.

I think it's great that Bill Lester got the pole. But I question it a little as well, considering his "ok" abilities in the truck series. They're in Atlanta, and I noticed a theme of blues and rap during the Bush pre-race show.

Being a bit of an idealist, I wish there wasn't even a reference to the word "minority" in our society. As if it should matter...

I think Kasey Kahne will be surprised to learn that little tidbit.

Oops. damn. I feel a tad foolish. 19th is about his ability, I'm happy for him. I doubt he'll finish in the top 25 though.

Rain at Atlanta: As of 3:55 PM Eastern Time, Fox announced that the Golden Corral 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway has been postponed until Monday, March 20th at 11:00 AM Eastern Time and will be televised on FX and some FOX stations and covered live on PRN Radio / XM Satellite Radio. The Monday forecast also shows rain. Rumor has it: NASCAR could reschedule the race for the Saturday before the Easter Holiday should another rainout occur tomorrow.

Ill be pulling for Bill whenever they are able to have this race. I sure hope the "theme" of rap you speak of doesn't continue though.

Track officials fired up the Jet Dryers at dawn this morning in an attempt to get yesterday's race underway. With the cars rolling off the grid as we speak, let's hope we can fit the entire race in before the next downpour.
