Jeff Burton passed Matt Kenseth with six laps left to win the Dover 400 - his first win in 176 trys. When Kenseth ran out of gas with two laps remaining, Burton took over the Championship Lead - currently six points ahead of Jeff Gordon.

Three Race Tracks Jeff Gordon has never won at:

There are three current race tracks in the Nextel Cup Series that #24-Jeff Gordon has not won at:

Texas: 0 for 11 with a best of 2nd in 2002
Phoenix 0 for 15 with a best of 3rd in 2002 and 2004
Homestead 0 for 7 with a best finish of 3rd 2004

The Final Three Races of the 2006 Season are held at the above three tracks.

Edit: Gordon has won at 21 [19 active] of 24 tracks he has raced on including two not on the circuit any longer, (North Wilkesboro and Rockingham).

I just wanted to thank you for these constant updates man!

seriously, I sometimes forget all the stuff thats going on and at least three times this year, your little pop up thread alerts have prompted me to go put the race into Tivo....( my Tivo Plus expired so i have to do i manually)

Thanks for the posts guys, and I agree. Having a Discussion Thread to follow along the season has made this year a bit more interesting. The next few weeks should provide a little more clarity as to who pulls ahead in the Race to the Championship!!
