I thought NBC's coverage of the Brickyard race yesterday was a total joke, at least at the end. They spent the last 5 or 6 laps concentrating exclusively on the 48, even though he was just motoring around the track with such a lead no other cars were even visible. Was that some kind of product placement deal they had with Lowes? I'm pretty sure there was some intense racing back in the 4-12 place area, although i can't really be sure because they never televised it after the last caution. Then they totally missed the accident on the last lap, preferring to show the 48 doing burnouts, etc. Would it have killed them to show a couple of replays?
I really miss the Fox coverage. Benny Parsons is ok, but the camera work and direction on NBC is amateurish. And who cares what Wally Dallenbach, a career journeyman driver, has to say?
