Gentlemen, Start Your Engines!!

Looks like Joe Gibbs Racing scored a coup putting that Hamlin kid in the 11 car, which had trouble even qualifying for races last year. He's smooth and fast, a rare combination in a rookie Cup driver. Look for him to win a couple of times before the season is over. Maybe Smoke won't have to go it alone against the Hendrick and Roush megateams in plate races much longer.

NASCAR's decision to take away the Southern 500 Labor Day race from Darlington and put it at the utterly boring Fontana track was a terrible injustice and slap in the face to its longtime fans.

I agree entirely with your statement above. Clearly, NASCAR has opted for 'Money Grab' guidance when it comes to decisions for the sports future. As a long time attendee of the Southern 500, I remain astonished at NASCAR's decision to move the Labor Day Race to the snooze-fest known as Fontana. Darlington always provides exciting racing - not just every race, but every lap. NASCAR's decision to ignore the traditions which built the foundation for the current popularity it enjoy's appears to pander toward the A.D.D. generation of fans. Concerning itself more with 'media exposure' as opposed to good racing, NASCAR has insured the 'show' now takes priority over any 'racing' which might occur on track.

Gordon (Jeff) continues to inch closer to the front ...
Yeah Spyder, he's lookin' strong tonight. Junior is too. Not to mention Robby Gordon's been in the top 10 all night. I hope he gets a good finish.

Tony's setup is that of a junkyard dog. He's about to get lapped.
