Eventually, the backwards US may someday catch up to Canada and implement the proof of reserves. Maybe someday they'll finally have a spot-ETF too (and finally embrace the metric system with the rest of the modern world). But as I mentioned earlier, those proofs are not idiot proof. Someone will still find a way to manipulate data.
