Geithner : Americans are "going to have to go back to living within our means."

Quote from mon:

yes they do because in nature, if you are a cow or a zebra

and you are not a vigilant zebra and you are not looking out for predators constantly

guess what buddy, you won't live long

America was not founded on the principles of predation... but rather the opportunity to be "free... to pursue your life as you see fit, without excess government intervention".

good point

too bad Rothschild family invented central banking and decided to turn system into predation

as that line in movie matrix

"Welcome to the desert of real"

Quote from Scataphagos:

True. But of course, it's "blaming the victim". Do you always think a victim "deserves it" when he gets sucked in by a dishonest someone who is SUPPOSED to be looking out for his welfare?

Nobody "deserves" to be abused.

Too bad we can't geographically divide the US into "government welfare state", and "capitalistic, freedom state".... say, the Mississippi river?

Now THAT would be "fair" to all.

Why not ....?

Rock on....!!!!!!!

Enough already......

In your face fascism...."USA style"....

US Govt. has decided to implode vs progress....

Why not a new Mason Dixon....?

OR

USAA Socialist Republic vs USA Capitalist Democracy.....

Would become similar to North/South Korea....

Let the half that want socialism...have it....

And the other half can have what they want...capitalism....

Financially separate and distinct....

Since it is so close to 50/50 ?

Quote from Jacob Fries:

Why are you so afraid of starting over?

If you are young and have nothing, "starting over" wouldn't be a penalty.... you'd still have nothing after the "wipe clean".

But if you're older and have accumulated for retirement or a richer lifestyle, you'd be personally "wiped clean". That's not fair. And older folks wouldn't have the time, opportunity, nor energy to "start over".

Nevertheless, there WILL probably be a "wipe clean"... much to the misery of a huge part of our citizenry.

Quote from Angrycat:

Listen, you POS, our oppressed, hopeless and impoverished lives might be a cartoon to a disgusting POS like you, but it was hell for those of us forced to live it.

This is my last response to you, mental midget. As usual, your posts are as worthless as you are.
I bet you revel in your righteous indignation, don't you? You know full well that I was referring to two-dimensional extremes. But that acknowledgement wouldn't suit your self-indulgent woe-was-me purpose, would it? Your knee-jerk reaction to your past is reminiscent of Rand's two-dimensional interpretation of the world. With special emphasis on the "jerk" part. (Was she your aunt perhaps?)

You are not the only one who originally hails from Eastern Europe. Get over yourself already.

I can see it now... East of the Mississippi, the USSA with Obama leading the parade.

West of the Mississipi, Ron Paul (or even Jesse "The Body" Ventura") as POTR of the capitalist and freedom regime.

Ooh, just the thought of it gets my giney all a tingle...

:D

US has always been a predatory place.
Obviously the capitalist predators were more subtle in days gone by, until they went too far by reaching out globally too quickly at the expense of middle america.

Middle america is still the mule of the global reach and will be for another two decades I would imagine. The difference now being that the gov. is going to pick on their bones in a very unsubtle way.

Quote from Thunderdog:

Really? So after all that has happened, you still don't think regulation needs some starch? Fascinating.

As for the taxation part, it is the Democrats' intention to rebalance the socioeconomic imbalance perpetrated by the Bush administration. This was their platform and is what Americans voted for in large number. Unless you're rich, I would think you could live with that. And if you are rich, well, then, you can live with it as well -- your coffers have filled nicely during Bush's reign. Bush's policies were creating the beginnings of a Third World disparity.

"Facing the first real rough patch of his presidency, President Obama and his supporters are once again resorting to a tried-and-true tactic: attacking George W. Bush and Dick Cheney."
