As for the taxation part, it is the Democrats' intention to rebalance the socioeconomic imbalance perpetrated by the Bush administration. This was their platform and is what Americans voted for in large number. Unless you're rich, I would think you could live with that. And if you are rich, well, then, you can live with it as well -- your coffers have filled nicely during Bush's reign. Bush's policies were creating the beginnings of a Third World disparity.

It never ceases to amuse me that the taxpayer believes lawmakers are there in DC to do our bidding. What a joke. They say what they have to say to get elected.

There is no law requiring lawmakers to listen to the people. There is no recourse against lawmakers doing their own bidding.

Thunderpoo....you forget that I lived in countries where all this "equalization" happened in full force.

The result?

95% were way poorer than the poor in Alabama (one of America's poorest states). The poorest and middle class suffered the most. the 5% that were either in government and able to bully people to get what they want or had friends in high places (whom they usually purchased) lived like kings. Inequality increased and so did poverty.

So, please, find someone else to peddle your Marxist bullshit to.
