GeForce Video Card Question

How loud are the GeForce Video Cards? (8600 model)

It has a fan on it, so I was wondering if I would hear this thing running while the pc is on?
 
Extremely loud .I have xfx 8600 gt, its so loud that i can here the fan in another room .I just recently bought the new dell and when i first turned the machine on, i thought to myself there is something wrong with this pc .Even my five asked me why its so loud .Its like vacuum cleaner .But two weeks later, i could barely here that noise .
 
SLI compatible motherboards, ...their website has the motherboard manufacturer, but rarely is that listed on retail off the shelf...computer specs...

Any idea besides trial n error...?
