The good news is he's pretty old now and doesn't take care of himself very well. So any ideas of him continuing on as President in 2020 seem absurd on some levels, I doubt he'd have the energy for it. He may think he can do it but four more years even some of his biggest supporters would start hating him like George W. late in his second term.
During first 3 years of the Obama Presidency the GDP increased by 2.1% and grew at an annualized rate of 0.70%/yr.. of . During the first 3 years of the Trump Presidency the GDP growth rate increased by 1.9% and grew at an annualized rate of 0.63%/yr. This is simply a reflection of an economy topping out. The economy of a huge nation has a large inertia. In the 8 years of the Obama Presidency the GDP increased by 4.9% and grew at an annualized rate of 0.61%/yr. N.B: In most recessions the GDP/capita rises. A rising GDP/capita can signal a deteriorating labor picture.
