Actually when it was all said and done, and the major bugs were out, the cost was about 2 billion. This seems a bit high to me. Its between 6 and 7 bucks for each person. I would have thought it could be done for about half that. But when amortized over a few years it is really not that bad. Wasn't it a Canadian owned company that had the main contract?
Canadian company? If so, was US public money being used to fund Liberal political efforts in other countries? Did the money paid to this Canadian company fund Justin Trudeau’s rise to power and increasing Liberalism’s rise to prominence in Canada? Why was a US website designer not used? It certaintly wasn’t about saving money, was it? What is the initial cost of similar private sector national or global online websites? Pennies per user?
