Primoris (PRIM) Wins Contract For $100M Thermal Power Project

  • Fri, August 20, 2021, 11:16 AM
Primoris Services Corporation PRIM has received a contract for engineering, procurement and construction of a thermal power project worth $100 million. The company’s Energy/Renewables segment has secured this contract to offer the above-mentioned services to a 200 MW of thermal power in two different locations in the Southwest.

Under this project, which is expected to be completed in second-quarter 2022, Primoris will perform civil, electrical and mechanical work associated with construction of these new power generation plants adjacent to the existing facilities.

Initial engineering and procurement of the project will begin in third-quarter 2021.

Solid Project Execution Bodes Well

Strong project execution continues to reap benefits for Primoris. Although shares of the company has lagged the Zacks Building Products - Heavy Construction industry year to date, the company has been benefiting from solid performance across the two segments — Utility and Energy/Renewables.

Precisely, during second-quarter 2021, the Utility Segment witnessed 25% revenue growth from a year ago, primarily due to the Future Infrastructure acquisition and increased activity with a significant customer in California. Meanwhile, solar projects continued to drive the Energy/Renewables segment. This segment’s revenues grew 20% and gross profit increased 84% year over year.

Total backlog was $2.9 billion at the end of second-quarter 2021. This Zacks Rank #5 (Strong Sell) company achieved record Master Service Agreements/MSA backlog of $1.5 billion during the second quarter, which comprised 52% of the total backlog, despite the winter storm that hit Texas in the first quarter and historically wet weather conditions in the second quarter that pushed some of its revenues further out in the year.

WoooHa them be some good sectors to be in.--> Company used to be called TU TopCo--
TaskUs price target raised to $52 from $50 at JPMorgan 08:38 TASK JPMorgan analyst Tien-tsin Huang raised the firm's price target on TaskUs to $52 from $50 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares after establishing December 2022 price targets for the sector.
There are all kinds of price targets-- The way behind, the lets get even, the stupid silly, the ignorant, But this kind: a meager $2 raise wouldn't be that important if the stk was trading close to that price... But TASK is $ 39.50<--- & so this must be looked at as a signal flare.

Damn the kid is good!!!>>> The reasoning so sound. Analyst Signal Flare is the best line of the thread!

Hey Van I talked with someone who explained to me the SNAP problem why it always fails and traps people. Apparently this is all because of stupid options. A bunch of Hedgies keep buying... this is where I drifted off... in the money calls? or something that boost the stock somehow artificially and then always when they expire it crashes... They should take away the options on this stock and it would be $90. Super annoying Quants!
I told you that last year dummy.
Of course its options.
Roblox is playing the same game too.

Re Maria....
She's married to Jonathan Steinberg. He founded WisdomTree Investments.
AUM of $90+ billion. You see their commercials every day on CNBC.

I think I told you this before... but in my entire trading life I have only paid for one stock recommendation service, back in the early 90's. It was a little bi-weekly 2 page thing. Snail mail.

The writer was an unheard of wannabe stock player operating out of his apt in NYC.
If I'm good at anything Stoney, its my ability to spot talent early on. I don't care what field its in, I spot the best. It's the intuition I was born with I guess.

Anyway, that unknown writer that was struggling to get by charging $45 for 6 months and mailing them out by hand... that was Jonathan Steinberg.

So leave Maria alone. I'm sure you're no Adonnis either.
:p

hey, do any fellow coupang CPNG holders have a good understanding of the lock up dates. seems we just went through one (2nd trading day following 2nd fiscal results), and now we have something coming in september. the 180 day lock up? soft bank can sell all their shares? i'm going to dig into it, but if any one has anything, let me know. i'm going to put aside some money in case this thing goes on a fire sale, but also want to make sure i know the details.

I had a dream that Sea Limited (SE) bought CPNG for $90 a share. It was just a dream unfortunately.

hahhahah
ok, that one got a genuine out loud laugh Stoney!

Hey on BABA.... I told you last week... wait for $149.
You see its down big today already. It hit $153 earlier.
I don't think it'll get to $149.

A few shares at $155 might be safe to get your toes wet. There's gonna be a lot of buyers at this level. Just like that block trade you cited.

As I was dicking around writing that last post, I got a fill for $153.50 on BABA Stoney. 50 shares lol.
Oh well, it was me that said "dip your toes in". I should have did a Triple Lindey off the high dive.
