DavidsTea reports Q1 EPS C$0.05 versus (C$0.26) in last years Q1 16:18 DTEA Sales for the three-months ended May 1, 2021 decreased 27.9%, or $9.0 million, to $23.2 million from $32.2 million in the prior year quarter. On March 17, 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Company temporarily closed all its retail stores in Canada and the United States, and subsequently in second quarter of fiscal 2020 as part of its formal Restructuring Plan, exited all of its brick-and-mortar stores except for 18 Canadian stores which were reopened on August 21, 2020. Accordingly, brick and mortar sales for the quarter declined when compared to the prior year quarter by $11.9 million or 78.3% to $3.3 million. Sales from e-commerce and wholesale channels increased by $2.9 million or 17.2% to $19.9 million, from $17.0 million in the prior year quarter. E-commerce and wholesale sales represented 85.9% of sales compared to 52.9% of sales in the prior year quarter. "As at May 1, 2021, we had $31.3 million of cash, primarily held by major Canadian financial institutions."
