Vertex Energy price target raised to $17 from $2 at Stifel 07:27 VTNR Stifel analyst Michael Hoffman raised the firm's price target on Vertex Energy (VTNR) to $17 from $2 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares after the company agreed to acquire refining and logistics assets of Shell (RDS.A) in Mobile, Alabama, for $75M. Vertex thinks the Hydrocracker conversion cost is significantly less than a greenfield project to produce renewable diesel, said Hoffman in a note partially titled "Did Not See this Coming." He values the company's legacy assets at $2 and the addition of the Shell refinery at another $15, with "an assumption for some walk down of subsidies."

Vertex Energy price target raised to $25 from $4 at H.C. Wainwright 06:13 VTNR H.C. Wainwright analyst Amit Dayal raised the firm's price target on Vertex Energy to $25 from $4 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares following the "transformational deal" in which the company agreed to acquire refining and logistics assets of Shell n Mobile, Alabama, for $75M. Management intends to unlock value though an additional $85M investment in leveraging the asset's unique hydrocracking capability to produce renewable diesel, Dayal tells investors in a research note.
