Cameras are already out there- Gov sets the stage for this with EZ pass... I fought the fight for as long as I could but eventually they forced me into buying a pass.

I think you are correct though there is push back. Overwhelming the pushback is the want for Cops not to have to walk up on so many cars for trivial reasons.

We just had a great Cop killed on the LIE by this chick with so many violations. Was she going to stop because of a ton of fines sent her way? Probably not.

Here what one Police chief said:
The "prosperous bedroom community" of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee (pop. 35,000) has 39 Rekor cameras to police its streets. According to local cops, criminals were driving into Mt. Juliet to do crimes. And now this network of cameras is leading to dozens of arrests.

"We’ve surpassed 100 successful interceptions,” said [MJPD Captain Tyler] Chandler. “We’ve recovered over 60 stolen cars, 36 stolen plates, four stolen trailers, two missing juveniles and 40 wanted persons.”

I guess it boils down to how you feel about Red Light Cameras. I don't like them but in general I'd rather get a letter in the mail than deal with anybody walking up on me....

As to patents I remember ReKOR had a big dispute with someone that was resolved.

REKR claims to have the most advanced tech out there they are a data company AI at heart.
Who Knows...

I see the down side as well (maybe more so now) You are just using people to raise money but isn't everything? There's another aspect of REKOR that bothers me... they do some shady stuff with Insurance. I don't think they should replicate that State to State and perhaps this was the stumbling block...

The DOD (Dept Of Defense) does use ReKor products so I would say the tech is pretty on point... Still given my druthers I would of sold already and rotated into Porch.Com.

It it's own way Porch shares some characteristics with Rekor. You are tied into housing of course... Traffic runs in unending cycles... Getting first look at potential customers is a big part of Big Data and both REKOR and Porch do that...

Either way, I doubt their AI is better than Motorola's. We're talking an Apple vs Vuzi comparison. David and Goliath.
Plus, police departments across the country have been dealing with Motorola (and their sales reps) for 50+ years. That goes a long long way I'd think.

One of the things I liked (past tense) about REKOR is they seemed to be targeting some really interesting new areas... Fast food and gas stations... These are places Motoroloa won't be!

My last word on this sad affair is

Vigilant Solutions – which is owned by Motorola Solutions – is used by law enforcement across the country. It is also run by a former Cop.

REKOR seemed to me a more interesting play, going away from stolen cars and into the world of retail. Even into your cell phone and into your house with your Ring Doorbell.

If one is really worried about personal freedoms and such I'd be wary of Vigilant much more so than REKOR-- Remember it's all data...

Stacked up I like the REKOR business model a lot better-- lets hope they grab a state or two and get back on track!

Large holdings are also getting hit hard before the bell. Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA), Square(NYSE:SQ)and Roku(NASDAQ:ROKU)are all down more than 5%.
ARKK is below $100 for the first time since November 16.
On Monday, the ARK Fintech Innovation ETF(NYSEARCA:ARKF), sold 87,560 shares of Apple(NASDAQ:AAPL)amid the tech selloff, more than 30% of its total holdings. ARKF is the only ARK ETF that owns apple.
ARKF still holds 200,387 shares of Apple, according to Bloomberg.
Wood has been selling bigger, liquid tech names of late to buy smaller companies on the dips, such as newly-public Coinbase(NASDAQ:COIN)and Palantir(NYSE:PLTR),off more than 20% year to date.
