Investment Thesis Overview
  • SCR competes in the North America online gaming industry, where the company launched sports betting in NJ in 2019. After the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA) was repealed in 2018, deregulation for online gaming and sports betting has accelerated. Today 15 states currently offer some form of online wagering (includes Washington D.C.) and we see Canada legalizing online wagering in the next 12 to 18 months. We believe online betting offers a $20 – $ 25 billion market opportunity in the U.S. and Canada by 2025.
  • SCR is a unique player in the N. America online gaming market, where its ability to directly integrate sports media consumption with sports betting is a unique opportunity in the industry. With SCR’s established brand among sports fans, we believe the company should be able to cost effectively assert market share in a highly competitive industry. The company offers online wagering in NJ, IN, CO and IA and we expect SCR to continue launching into new states over the next 12-24 months. Legalization of OSB in Canada is perhaps SCR’s greatest catalyst over the next 12-months, given SCR’s large user base and well-known brand in the country.
  • We forecast revenue growth at a 73% though to 2025. Our 12-month price target is US$30.00 (CA$38.00).
