Genius Sports, NFL sign multi-year data rights deal, CNBC reports 16:53 DMYD The National Football League has agreed to a multi-year partnership with London-based data and technology firm Genius Sports, CNBC's Jabari Young reports. The deal makes Genius the official data provider for NFL games. It will distribute real-time play-by-play stats, the league's "Next Gen Stats," and provide sports betting data feeds to media companies and sports betting firms domestically and internationally, the author noted

We believe management continues to view a sports betting partnership as an enhancement to D&B's sports offering, and we remain optimistic that an arrangement could be announced in the coming quarters."
  • The firm keeps a Strong Buy rating on Dave & Buster's.

  • ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd.(NYSE:ZIM)shot up nearly 9% Thursday as the Israeli shipping firm continues to add tothe more than 100% gain that it’s enjoyed following a weak January IPO.
  • ZIM rose 8.8% to close at a session-high $26.78 on the New York Stock Exchange. All told, the stock has gained some 130% since ZIM fell 23%on on Jan. 28, its first trading day.
Rare for a completely busted IPO to roar back like this...

SPAC dMY Technology Group II soaring on NFL deal with Genius Sports- Good News for whole sector!!!

  • SPAC dMY Technology Group II(NYSE:DMYD), which is taking Genius Sports public, jumped 24% in after hours trading after the National Football League signed a multi-year agreement with Genius Sport to be its new data rights partner.
  • Terms weren't given, though CNBC reported that it's a 4 year cash and equity deal with options. The agreement may be valued at over $1B over the life of the contract if additional years are tacked on.
  • Horizon Acquisition Corp. II(NYSE:HZON), which is reportedly in a deal to take Sportradar public, fell 4.6% as Genius Sports is replacing Sportradar with the new contract. The NFL has had an agreement with Sportradar to provide data since 2015.

  • The repayment was funded with excess cash and reflects continued progress toward deleveraging the company's balance sheet.
  • As of Mar. 31, 2021, the company had ~$375M of cash on-hand and a zero balance outstanding on its asset-based revolving line of credit.
  • "Including this debt repayment, the company has now reduced its debt levels by over $850M since September 2020," CFO Marlo Cormier commented.
