Colley views Zix as "underfollowed" and a company that has transitioned into being one with improved scale and a better organic growth profile, he tells investors. He sees its "new and improved" Secure Cloud product platform "gaining encouraging traction" and sees multiple avenues for Zix to expand, the analyst added.
 
Ping Identity initiated with an Overweight at Stephens 16:18 PING Stephens analyst Brian Colley initiated coverage of Ping Identity with an Overweight rating and $40 price target. The analyst launched coverage on security software with a positive view on the sector. The sector offers "attractive growth opportunities" as cybersecurity has become a top priority for businesses in the wake of the pandemic and the SolarWinds attack, one of the most devastating cyberattacks in U.S. history, Colley tells investors in a research note. As a leader in enterprise identity and access management, Ping Identity's business is at the intersection of "two powerful secular trends" - the adoption of Zero Trust security architectures and digital transformation, says the analyst. He sees room for valuation multiple expansion as growth reaccelerates in 2021.

Snapping up shares
Finally, Snap saw its stock rise more than 7%. The social media company behind Snapchat is getting ready to announce its earnings results later this week.

Snap has worked hard lately to fight back against rising competition in its social media niche. The acquisition of AI-company Ariel will give Snapchat the capability to put 3-D models of people into a camera view. Analysts are pleased at the progress that Snap has made in its recovery efforts, even as some worry that an end to the COVID-19 pandemic could halt progress.

Analysts want to see revenue grow at least 50% in the fourth quarter of 2020, with corresponding gains in profits. If Snap can get there, then its share-price gains thus far could be just the beginning.
