GBA's "2021 Stock Phantasma"

Good call on SNAP Van. I didn't manage to quite hit all of the dip, but I got some. I'm going to sell a few off now just for some profit. Keep the rest until earnings. I was restless last night and so checked the market at 4am and it was bad everywhere -- everything i had was down (except OPKO and Novavax--those didn't drop). it was enough to rattle me and make me want to sell some stuff when it recovered today. i'm trying to do that now but Webull is totally down. wait...Looks it just might have come back up...
 
Also, re vaccines: I had my second vaccine/placebo shot this morning in the Novavax trial. A few things I learned from the clinician: it's a small clinic but they were overenrolled and so got to expand to more people. There had been a a fear there wouldn't be enough participants in these second-wave trials, but it wasn't the case at least there.

Also that clinic is just starting the Moderna study on kids 12-17. They're still looking for kiddos. She guessed that they would use these results also for little kids, as she didn't think they would enroll the little ones for a study. I thought that was interesting, as there' such a gulf between the ages of 12 and, say, 5. I've been curious how little kids are going to be handled.
 
It's pick on stoney day in the stock market. I worry some names are being sold to cover losses in stupid areas. If that's happening it will be trouble.



AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc. AMC, -53.12% said Thursday a group of investors including units of private-equity firm Silver Lake have opted to convert all $600 million of the cinema chain's 2.95% convertible senior notes due 2026 into Class A common shares, at a conversion price of $13.51 a share. The stock closed Wednesday at $19.90.
 
Snap Inc. shares SNAP, +9.93% are up 10% in Thursday morning trading after Evercore ISI analyst penned an upbeat note on the company's potential following recent talks across the ad industry and a strong fourth-quarter report from fellow social-media company Facebook Inc. FB, +1.15%. "Conversations with marketers during the holiday season, were the most bullish we have ever heard on Snap," Evercore ISI analyst Kevin Rippey wrote in a note to clients. Facebook's report Wednesday afternoon makes him "confident underwriting between 65% and 70% YoY revenue growth for Snap in the 4Q," which he said is the most optimistic projection among sell-side analysts. a strong fourth quarter could be one step on Snap's eventual path to upwards of $10 billion in revenue by 2025, he said. The consensus forecast calls for $2.45 billion for 2020. "We suspect the past few days' weakness is a function hedge funds repositioning amidst the current short squeeze environment," Rippey wrote, following a 10% slide for the stock over the four prior trading days. "As such, we see this dislocation as temporary, and add SNAP to our Tactical Outperform List." Snap shares have gained 27% over the past three months as the S&P 500 SPX, +1.99% has risen 16%.

i see lidar (vldr) is down quite a bit. I scooped some up today. No news that I can see besides a flush. Is this one of the names you’re referring to ?
 
At one point today all my speculative names were down the exact same amount 9.7%. This cannot be a coincidence.

This confirms that some hedge funds have been viewing this thread and they are selling good names to cover their crap. This is an insult to hard working investors everywhere. I have been Algo scraped! Never seen this before.
