I know a lot of you joined me in buying OPKO. The reason-- The NFL contract. The free commercials. Was I correct? The age old CEO? The possibles splitting of the company....

Ok the other day there was a little smoke screen I didn't want to scare you all because I viewed the news differently than the news viewed the news.

Some agitators wanted the Co to look at the previously announced " misleading " guidance. Scary right? But wait all of this NFL testing is after that guidance wouldn't we be doing better not worse? Could this be a stakeholder agitating for a pre-release of good news and not preparing a lawsuit? --- What if it was misleading by being too low? Only someone stoned can think like that!

Also scary--- The future We are living with Covid forever.... Central park August... tons of folks spread about sunning... Van's there visiting. Draganfly drone flies over, scans everyone notices that Van's temp is a bit high, another scan and Van's body language looks like he's coughing..... Van is interpreted as sick. Now everyone else's cellphone in that immediate area start beeping red... and they are all told to move away from Van. Then Van is captured and taken to a hotel for 14 days.

Spero's pipeline is based around the idea that treatment with oral antibiotics can prevent hospitalizations for serious infections, provide cost-effective MDR treatments, and give a level of convenience for community/hospitalized patients aided by Spero's Potentiator Platform.

Lead Candidate (1): Tebipenem HBr
Tebipenem HBr (formerly SPR994) completed its Phase 3 trial (ADAPT-PO: NCT03788967) in September 2020 with its novel oral carbapenem aiming to treat complicated Urinary Tract Infections ("cUTIs") and potentially acute pyelonephritis. Tebipenem HBr is aiming to submit its new drug application by 2H 2021. The premise of Tebipenem HBr is to capitalize on antibiotic resistance as a growing trend, particularly being more competitive than the most common oral antibiotic, fluoroquinolones, for resistant E. coli strains which are bacteria that cause the majority of UTIs. Fluoroquinolones have shown a 35% resistance in E. coli, which may increase as time goes on given resistance has doubled in the past 10 years.

This new medication aims to help patients avoid hospitalization and to return home quicker if hospitalized due to its all-oral regimen. Carbapenems have shown to be safer and more effective in treating drug-resistant gram-negative bacterial infections emerging as a new standard of care. Currently, they are only available via IV, not orally, emphasizing the hospitalization requirement that adds to the patient's total cost of treatment.

I could argue support $3 below. If you can stomach $3 downside... I think the upside is in the $40's.... Risk/Reward is more favorable here than with many biotechs. ~si
