Evercore 'all in on lithium producers,' upgrades Albemarle to Outperform 06:18 ALB Evercore ISI analyst Stephen Richardson upgraded Albemarle to Outperform from In Line with a price target of $200, up from $160. The analyst upgraded his view of the lithium stocks to reflect "positive developments in industry fundamentals." After reaching a bottom in the second half of 2020, lithium pricing has continued to move higher led by battery grade carbonate as inventories in the supply chain work down, Richardson tells investors in a research note titled "Legging into the Cycle - All in on Lithium Producers." While first half of 2021 pricing trends are expected to be challenging for producers that are largely contracted, the movement of spot indices above indicative contract prices is a key catalyst for the stocks, says the analyst. Richardson believes the price trend should bolster confidence in the ability to secure higher contracted price for capacity expansions, and prove supportive for project economics.

Trapnell highlighted that autoimmune pulmonary alveolar proteinosis is five-times underdiagnosed, with an estimated 10,000 affected U.S. patients versus a current 2,000 patient estimate, Rahimi tells investors in a research note. Because of aPAP's high prevalence and limited treatment options, "this opens the door" for competitive Molgradex pricing and revenue potential surpassing peak sales of $885M globally, says the analyst. Rahimi says the call "increases our conviction" of Molgradex and presents a buying point for Savara with the stock trading below cash.

Orocobre, Galaxy to merge in $3.1B deal creating Australian lithium player

  • Orocobre(OTCPK:OROCF)agrees to acquireAustralian lithium mining peer Galaxy Resources(OTCPK:GALXF)in an all-stock deal that will create theworld's fifth largest global lithium chemicals company.
  • Based on the companies’ closing share prices on Friday, the combined company would have amarket value of A$3.96B(US$3.06B).
  • Orocobre will acquire all outstanding shares in Galaxy, whose shareholders will receive 0.569 Orocobre shares for each of their own stock; Orocobre shareholders will own ~54% of the combined company and Galaxy shareholders will own the remaining 46%.
  • Orocobre CEO Martin Perez de Solay will head the combined group, and Galaxy Chairman Martin Rowley will become non-executive chairman of the new company.

Rekor Systems up 1% premarket as sees Q121 revenue above consensus
  • Rekor Systems(NASDAQ:REKR) announces preliminary Q121 results, with revenue exceeding $4.2M, representing growth of more than 160% Y/Y vs. $3.77M consensus.
  • "We expect the cash raised recently to provide us with the ability to pursue other opportunities in these segments in addition to funding our working capital needs, operating expenses and research and development, and other capital expenditures," says Eyal Hen, Rekor CFO.
  • The company expects to release its financial results for the first quarter 2021on May 10, 2021.

CureVac initiates rolling submission of COVID-19 vaccine in Switzerland
  • The Swiss subsidiary of CureVac(NASDAQ:CVAC)hasinitiateda rolling submission for CVnCoV, the company's mRNA based COVID-19 vaccine candidate, for the use in Switzerland.
  • CureVac has already provided the first data package on CVnCoV to Swissmedic, the country's regulatory authority.
  • The Agency will review these data regarding the standards of quality, safety and efficacy in consideration of the potential authorization for use of the CureVac vaccine candidate in Switzerland.
  • With this process the time to authorization can be reduced. CVAC shares up 2.4% premarket trading at $111.87.
  • In early February, the Swiss federal government and CureVac have signed a contract for the supply of 5M vaccine doses.
