Yeah they can be. You'd probably be better off just buying a Generac though and let them professionally install it. There's more to it than just "plugging it in." It needs to be wired in via a transfer box, thats a device that knows when your power goes out, and it kicks the generator on, at the same time isolating the line power. You don't want to back-feed the power line, you could kill someone working on the lines. In theory. Those guys are all aware however, that there's idiots out there so they take precautions. But still, you have to know what you're doing Stoney. How goes the microwave btw?
