Ok, but why are we there then(?), because we can't engage them. If we do, it's war. If they engage us and shoot, it's war. Therefore there would be absolutely no mission for the NATO aviators. They can't do anything, and as I said, the very presence of a NATO aircraft is extremely dangerous from the regards of an inadvertent escalation.
