President Biden is announcing today that 70% of Americans are free to walk around without having a mask around their face yet at XXX House that level has been mandated by the Board at zero.<— That’s problem.
I sent a note recently to Stephanie that I do not know if it reached you because you did not reply. That note dealt with a very large problem: the energy and good will between those that
work for the building and those that live here. The workers are fed up with the masks and overall engagement has been different with the residents. There is sense of depression
and negativity that is starting to bleed out. I sent the first note as a warning that the Board needed to move quickly and decisively to remove mask requests.
Residents that I have talked to recently are wondering if the overall makeup of the board may be skewered too much to an older demographic. This letter is to warn you that
people are talking about changes needed at the top. Just yesterday two residents discussed this with me.
NYC is listed as one of the best places nation wide to avoid Covid, with an absurdly low rate of transmission yet you have this building looking like a hospital. Those ugly plexi glass windows at the front desk are an affront to the look the building- it’s art deco with a bit of police enforcement and DMV accessibility. It depresses me to see our fine workers trapped behind glass wearing masks and having their quality of life changed so that a few people can feel better about their personal lives.
At this point you need to immediately act. Otherwise a building wide vote must be held ASAP by email. This will help avoid what is obviously going to become litigation.
Our children are free to breath the air again at school - don’t confuse them and depress them by pretending there still is an health emergency at home<---. This will backfire. This is
all about mental health now and the Board’s actions NOW are working against that mental health for the employees of the building and the residents.
It’s over. And if we are ever to react again to a new health threat in a way that includes masking, we have to take the old left over mask rules away, you have to show people that the next time won’t be forever…. This is matter of trust now.
