GBA Presents: THE GREEN MARKET

Yes, they authorized a $500 million share repurchase program,
That's about 37MM shares. Just under 10% of the current float.

Thing is about these announcements, they're not held to them. So while it sounds good, they don't actually have to do it.

But when you read a quarterly report after they have declared a buyback, they'll disclose how many shares, if any, they bought back and at what price.

That can be useful as it gives an insight into what the company actually thinks it's worth.
They can also use it on days like today when everyone is in a panic to put a floor under the stock so as to not spook the whale investors in the company.

This may be an interesting SHORT-- Alpha Lithium.

Hello everyone yours truly has been looking at lithium longs but ran across this blurb--

Russians and Lithium Funding
Of course any project needs funding. In this case, a Russian company "Uranium One" is investing $30 million (USD) into Alpha Lithium's subsidiary called Alpha One. This means the money is going directly into the project and it does not dilute the stock. After closing, Uranium One will have a 15% ownership stake of Alpha One and thus 15% of the project. Following the feasibility study, Uranium One has the right to further fund the project to the tune of $185 million for an additional 35% ownership in the Alpha One. Alpha One would keep 50%. According to Alpha Lithium, this would meet funding requirements to bring the project to commercialization. At this point, the project is funded IF the Russians determine everything is kosher. Also (depending on how the feasibility study pans out), a wild card is in play as an "up to $75 million" bonus payable to the company.

ok guys, why have my speculative tech/biotech stocks climbed up 10% during the course of the day (mttr/xair etc)? would have thought today's news would have done the opposite to them.

I bought the AAPL $162.5 as my last trade at .15, out $.60 and

LXU took out its high $13.60, yesterday it was holding up well until the sell off. SKIN another interesting play, has Stoney mentioned it? $16.56. It refused to break $15.80 on a Dow -700 Futures.

SKIN hit $19, LXU almost $15, Stoney and Van are teaching me the hang of it.
