Lithium Americas shares have 'numerous catalysts ahead,' says JPMorgan 07:15 LAC Lithium Americas shares have decoupled from the rise in lithium prices and dropped 33% since its high at the end of November, JPMorgan analyst Tyler Langton tells investors in a research note. The analyst thinks the decline has been mostly driven by the drop in the markets, but he believes Lithium Americas "has numerous catalysts ahead of it that should be positives for its stock." He sees positive catalysts this year for the company's Thacker Pass, Cauchari and Pastos Grandes projects. The two most immediate catalysts are the appeal ruling on the Record of Decision for Thacker Pass and final permits being issued for Thacker Pass, Langton writes. The analyst has an Overweight rating on the shares with a $42 price target.

Iridium upgraded to Overweight from Equal Weight at Barclays 08:07 IRDM Barclays analyst Mathieu Robilliard upgraded Iridium Communications to Overweight from Equal Weight with a price target of $47, up from $42, which represents 26% upside. Recent results show that in a post pandemic world, Iridium's "growth engines are intact thanks to structural growth in demand and its competitive challenger position," Robilliard tells investors in a research note. Unlike peers, the company is not threatened by the upcoming new constellations as it targets a small, yet growing, niche that does not require high bandwidth but rather global coverage, service/antenna affordability and reliability, says the analyst. He adds that Iridium is in the "sweet spot" of its business model, with no material capex over the next 10 years. Robilliard expects the company's free cash flow generation to double in the next five years.
