Van I have been struggling with this but the market I believe is indicating not to buy expensive tech stocks. We should be thinking cyclical something I'm not sure what. Small cap value meh. It's buyable --> BIOTECH I WOULD GUESS IN THE NEXT GO_GO AREA but tech ... the Cloud stocks are telling us something -- too many stocks - and whenever Semi's run it ends badly because a LOT OF CHIP BUYS ARE I'm sure being brought forward...

There is this feeling that work at home is going to continue now because of Omicrom. . That means more internet shopping... In some ways I come back to Ebay... FARFETCH<-- that's
worth along look here. Ralph Lauren in an IRA and LVMHY... SWATCH... //

Space stocks? I'm on the fence.

Dude, anyone with a pulse and a cable hook-up into their TV has heard for the the last 2+ weeks that high flying cloud stocks are out of favor.
You write like this its some savant insight lol.

The bottom line... time marches on.
You identify the best, and you wait for the sell-off.
Not that these 3 are "the best", but they'll do.

PATH is on probation though. Its new. I like it though. I like the way it held up Friday.

American Express was $183 and its $167 now.
GM was $63... Its $63 now.
Coca-Cola was $56 and it's still $56.

All great stocks. The worst is AXP and I only threw that one in there because you like it.

PWR has just had millions and millions of previously unanticipated revenue just fall in their lap that will last at least a quarter or two.
And these meteorologic disasters certainly appear to be getting worse.

So whatever.
Short PWR if you don't like it.
But watch it run this week kiddo.

What did your fund say? $112?
Watch what it does if and when it hits $106.
$125 will be the next stop.

You are going to get rolled either way. No big tech crash because Apple locked in upward trajactory because no one wants big capital gain. The market is trying to shift somewhere.

  • This morning the White House launched an electric vehicle ("EV") charging action plan, designed to progress the Country towards thePresident's goal of 500k chargers nationwide, and 50% of EV sales share by 2030
  • The action plan is heavily weighted towards federal research and directives, with today's announcement 1) establishing a joint office of Energy and Transportation 2) convening a series of stakeholder meetings 3) preparing to issue guidance to states and cities on how to deploy EV charging stations 4) requesting input from domestic manufacturers to ensure the network can be built domestically 5) soliciting nominations for "alternative fuels corridors"
  • As for money, the release today flags $5b from the infrastructure bill (0.5% of total) allocated to States for roads and EV infrastructure; however, today's announcement also indicates there will be ~$3b in federal grants made available to ensure the charger network meets administrative priorities
  • The Country has ~100k charge points in place, suggesting the $3b of federal grants will provide $7,500 in support towards each of the additional 400k chargers needed to meet the President's goal
  • Referring to aDOE report from 2015, the department estimates cost of commercial-grade chargers in the range of $10k-$40k, suggesting the $7.5k grant per location will have a major impact on the direction of the Nation's EV infrastructure
  • There arecurrently around 150k gasoline stations nation wide, suggesting the President's goal of 500k charge points would put EV infrastructure on par with internal combustion engine ("ICE") infrastructure; and that's before accounting for the proportion of EV owners likely to charge at home
  • Tesla(NASDAQ:TSLA)operates the largest EV charging network in the US, with around 30k chargers (worldwide); CEO Elon Musk was in the press last week indicating the infrastructure bill should be canned entirely
  • Though Tesla may feel like it's privately funded network is being crowded out by taxpayer-funded government grants, equipment manufacturers like Blink(NASDAQ:BLNK)and Charge Point(NYSE:CHPT)are likely to benefit as they sell equipment into the rapidly growing market

Well (phew) right again.. we are getting the 1000 point move up after all and we have ten more days of safety before we have to be really careful. I must be the most accurate prognosticator out there.

I have two basic questions.

1> These charging ports for EV cars they REALLY interest me...some say "free" I word I hate in investing. Who makes the call on the price of the electricity? who gets to fix the price to the consumer? and what wiggle room is there? Does the Gov have a say? Is this regulated?

Who makes the money? Basic question. I give you a charging station that's solar and you can charge what.? How much to charge each car?
