Purple Innovation price target lowered to $10 from $20 at Wedbush 07:43 PRPL Wedbush analyst Seth Basham lowered the firm's price target on Purple Innovation to $10 from $20 and keeps an Outperform rating on the shares. The analyst notes Purple announced the hiring of a new Acting CEO and Board Member, Robert DeMartini, effective immediately. DeMartini will take over for Joe Megibow who has led the company since September 2018 after replacing co-founder Terry Pearce. In conjunction with the announcement, Purple stated it now expects full year 2021 net revenue and Adjusted EBITDA at the low end of its previous guidance, Basham adds. The analyst believes DeMartini appears to be a good fit for Purple, but finds it "curious" that DeMartini's position as CEO is on an interim basis while his board seat is seemingly more permanent. He would not be surprised if DeMartini's hiring were eventually made permanent after a trial period at the helm.

Planet Fitness assumed at Outperform from Market Perform at Cowen 07:40 PLNT Cowen analyst Max Rakhlenko upgraded Planet Fitness to Outperform from Market Perform with a price target of $100, up from $92, as he assumed coverage of the stock. He is constructive on the setup given his view that Planet is poised for strong new member growth and openings to accelerate "with pre-pandemic highs in sight." Industry dislocation should accelerate the company's flywheel and yield ongoing market share growth, pricing power, and the ability to reach over 4,000 gyms, added Rakhlenko.

  • Update 9:17am: Engaged confirms stake, letter.
  • Quotient Technology Inc. (NYSE:QUOT), the parent of Coupons.com, is said to be target by activist Engaged capital after the fund took a stake in the company.
  • Engaged, run by Glenn Welling, owns a 6.5% stake in Quotient and sent a letter to the company's board about its issues with the share price and operations, according to a Bloomberg report.
  • Engaged Capital confirmed in a press release that it sent a letter to Quotient (QUOT) and criticized the company for it's corporate governance.
  • "This board must finally act decisively to change the company’s direction," Engaged wrote in the letter.
  • "There are valuable assets in QUOT – assets that other peers and competitors would find highly attractive if the company is unable to drive profitable growth and the coard is finally open to other paths for value creation," Engaged added in the letter.
  • Earlier this month, Quotient Technology plummets as management says Albertsons partnership will end.
 
A 36.06 Short Interest




With being rejected at the $48 level and growing short interest, it is not impossible for Blink to retest the $35 level in order to close the gap visible on its daily timeframe. $26 is currently a good support level if there will be a pullback. A break above its major trend line could initiate a short squeeze.
