Mr Camel... just saw this. On Ford... it had that big up day yesterday, I honestly don't think it's going anywhere fast. I mean sales are strong right now, but going forward I question how strong they'll be. You might take a small position, but I wouldn't get too crazy.
Keep an eye on rebates. Both Ford and GM. If you start seeing a lot of commercials for things like 0% down and 0% for one year, or $2000 cash-back... that kind of stuff.... it's usually a sign that the stocks will remain flat at best for the next few quarters. Pretty simple Lynchian analysis, but they only do that when sales are slow. And if it happens months before the model year change... you can bet inventory is building.
I think I heard Cramer say the other day that Ford was his biggest holding in his charitable trust. Ahhhh, not sure what he's thinking with that one. I bet he trimmed some yesterday though.
