Massive Oil inventory drawdown in the report tonight. Oil and Stocks should gap up tomorrow if not on the open when the main inventory report comes out at 10:30 am. I had peak exposure today but sold my ATH, CPG, CVE, and half my MEG at close to daily highs today. Wish I hadn't now but my overnight risk was way too high and it is possible to buy in first thing on these stocks lately. Still have a huge Baytex position and a lot of cash I may throw back into these stocks if things look good first thing. Lucero is stuck my standing sell orders haven't filled for a week. Cenovus has had good price action ( large cap ). MEG, WCP, CPG have stalled out but could start up if they break key levels.

The main Oil inventory was an even bigger drop 17M barrels. Biden still hasn't bought any barrels back for the SPR but at least they stopped selling them July 7th. Whatever happened to the replenish the SPR if Oil drops below $70 narrative ? They bungled the trade most of their profits are gone now.

Oil did a fake out drop on the news but the stocks held up well then today instant reversal ( plus threatening higher ). The stocks are all up but not a lot except Athabaska took out 52 week highs decisively. Baytex looks ready to rock and roll from here after some consolidation on the initial pop on earnings. The others technically took out recent resistance ( barely ) so it should be interesting to see if they can rally from here. Cenovus looks like it wants to climb back to $30 Cdn in short order. MEG I can't figure out in a strong Oil performance it's fundamentally one of the best plays ( decades of reserves ).

I was avoiding Nat Gas plays in recent months but Arc Resources absolutely crushed earnings again despite lower Nat Gas prices ( 0.93 >> 0.37 ). So I took a position as a low risk short term play. Others like Birchcliff / Crew / Nuvista report soon they may rally in anticipation. Crew has already run up so timing may be off. A lot of these stocks sold off with Nat Gas but they are still reporting massive profits ( eg 0.93*4/$20 is still around a 5 multiple ).
