SoFi Technologies Acquires Technisys SA For $1.1 Billion

Mizuho Securities has advised investors to buy SoFi Technologies (NASDAQ:SOFI) shares after recent weakness, saying the bears are "mathematically and intellectually off".

"They wrongly conclude that since no personal loans were sold in Q1, SOFI is unable to sell its loans," said Dan Dolev, managing director at Mizuho, while reaffirming its Buy rating. "We believe the correct reasoning is that SOFI is able to earn ~6.4% annualized yield on holding its personal loans, which is more attractive than selling them at ~5%."

Dolev said the argument regarding a potential CECL provision is not a possibility as regulators don't allow switching between fair market value and cost accounting.

Another concern for bears is the recent liquidity disclosure in SoFi's (SOFI) 10-Q, but Dolev said this disclosure isn't new and has been around since SOFI went public.

Shares of SoFi (SOFI), which gained 5% YTD, dipped 0.9% in afternoon trade on Tuesday.
Mizuho's stance is in line with bullish sell-side ratings, but contrasts SA Quant's Hold rating.

I still had 200 shares of TIO, bailed at $5 and 200@$4.25. Van was right as usual!

ENVB been stuck, any thoughts? Bought at $2.80 out $3.30 and it hit $4.1!
