Do you still consider yourself the “Lizard King?”
That was two years ago, and even then it was kind of ironic. I meant it ironically…half tongue-in-cheek. It was an easy thing to pick up on. I could do easy searches on Elite Trader and find my S&P calls,it's a tracking mechanism as well as a siren call.
Each generation wants new symbols, new people, new names, new stocks—they want to divorce themselves from the preceding generation; they won’t call it rock, they won't call companies stocks maybe memes…Don’t you see a cyclical thing every five or ten years, when steel stocks really move?
How about people who complain about your great stock picking abilities? Shall we call them the jealous set? Will that whole thing effect whether you’ll continue leading The House Of Gummy?
I think being the stonedinvestor was the culmination, in a way, of my stock picking career.
Subconsciously, I think what I was trying to get across is that anyone who works hard enough can do it- pick stocks—I was trying to reduce it to absurdity, and it worked too well.
When did it stop getting to be fun?
I think there’s a certain moment when you’re right in time with your audience and then you both grow out of it and you both have to realize it; it’s not that you’ve outgrown your audience; it has to go on to something else. Lazy nitpickers who don't put in the work, who don't want you to succeed and when you do greatly they resent you, it adds a layer of boredom to the exercise and when you are The Lizard King being bored is very out of water. It's not a good place.
Thank you for your time.
You are welcome.
