FL is a much lower taxed state than CA. It's not even close. There's no income tax, the sales tax is slightly lower, and the property tax is only slightly higher. TX has a high property tax comparable to Northeastern high tax states like NY, NJ, and CT, but they have no property tax. In CA you're paying 8% on all income above $48k or so and 9.3% on all income above $61k or so. Those are about the highest income tax rates in the country at those income levels. The highest gas prices in the country are also in CA, not HI, because of taxes and regulations.

This is called cognitive dissonance. It’s when you believe that something isn’t bad because you have a personal connection to it. Blue states are in fact by and large safer and more prosperous than red states.
Watch the video below of a crowd at an Oklahoma governor debate that just happened when the democrat candidate brings up this fact. Even the moderator can’t wrap their head around the fact that Oklahoma is dangerous as hell and nowhere near as safe as NY.

California is the 4th largest economy in the world with one of the highest qualities of life. It’s foolish to call California third world.
I'm saying its corruption on the level of a 3rd world dictatorship. Look at how much it costs to build a single housing unit for the homeless. The state is poorly run and has been for a while.
