Gates flipping on Manafort, odds of Manafort flipping on Trump?

The great thing about Mannafort putting on a full defense is that he has the cash and the attorneys to do full discovery on that whole FBI/Fusion/Podesta/Clinton Campaign rat's nest. Don't forget that he worked for Tony Podesta as well and he knows all about what they and the fbi were up to. The Justice Department may not investigate that rat's nest, and a special prosecutor may not be appointed by you will find out a pile of stuff just through his attorneys subpoenaing witnesses and documents. We just went through a nine month period or more where the Justice Department refused to provide witnesses and documents to the Intel Committee even though they had been subpenoed by the Committee. You don't pull that on the judge in a criminal trial. If you don't produce as requested then he/she will just dismiss the case. And the defense attorneys know that so they always figure out what the government does not want to release even if it means a dismissal.

Same thing if you go after Trump. He will do a full defense and his attorneys will go where the Justice Department and the State Department do not want him to go in order to show that he is the subject of a politically biased witch-hunt.

My weekly statement has been and will continue to be "its all fun for Mueller until a full defense team shows up for someone." Going after Mannafort or Trump is not going to be the same as cornering some side players and getting them to choose between taking a plea or bankrupting themselves fighting the dipshit charge of the week.

I remember back when the lefties were crowing here about how Mannafort had been flipped. Howd that work out?

You are dreaming with this. Paul Manafort is going to jail.

However, I think it is safe to say Mueller believes Manafort has some important info on the election and this is the reason why he is ratcheting up the pressure on him.

Your binary mind is simply not able to process the point I made.

My point- and my post is right there- is that Mannafort or Trump will put on full defenses that will lead to discovery and investigation and testimony into the fbi/fusion/podesta/political bias/state department/ witchhunt- even though the FBI does not want to go there. But a defendant doing a full defense and having big dollars can go there massively.

Mannafort will be convicted of several crimes and also skate on several. I have always said that that Mueller will just spin endlessly on investigating others- in the beginning to try to get Trump- and then to compensate for not being able to get him.
