Gasoline shortage in France: 1/5 have no gasoline anymore

It is only going to get worst from here on in. They have not seen huge shortages of natural gas which is coming. Natural gas is going to have to travel by natural gas shipping containers now. It is going to be slow and pretty expensive with the added shipping costs to transport it. Oil is the 2nd gut punch coming Europe's way as oil prices go much higher. OPEC just announced 2,000,000 barrels of oil cut daily from its production. Countries will be scrambling to get their oil from Russia. Russia is still one of the largest oil producers which is lost on the fools of NATO European leaders. They will learn the hard way, that sanctions on your supplier of energy is a pretty dumb move. And blowing up the pipelines which supplies your natural gas is 10 times as dumb.

In other news, the European NATO leaders are now trying to shame Norway which is not part of the European Union, to give up its profits from natural gas. Ain't Socialism great? You are making too much monies so, give it all to me. Careful. These European NATO vultures might invade and take the whole of Norway. Who is going to protect you then? Right now, European Union is just bullying Norway. Tomorrow, they can invade and subjugate Norway to grab its natural resources.

Are you saying there is no shortage, but just a panic buying?
But the question remains: how come, how did it happen in the first place?... :)
The article says it was caused by a strike plus extra demand enabled by government fuel discounts.

Petrol and diesel are becoming scarce at many gas stations in France . There are two main reasons for this:

  • On the one hand, a strike in three of the six French refineries is likely to have led to the supply problems. The industrial action has been going on for several days. According to media reports, TotalEnergies refineries are also affected by the strike. In the majority of the plants, production is throttled or paralyzed. Due to high inflation, the CGT union is demanding a wage increase of ten percent, among other things. In addition, the union refers to the gigantic profits that the oil company has made since the beginning of the year, international media reports.

  • Another reason for the bottlenecks is likely to be government fuel discounts . France had increased the discount at the pump again at the beginning of September. Instead of the previous 18 cents, a discount of 30 cents per liter of petrol or diesel is granted. Especially in border regions such as Lorraine and the Ardennes, the discounts have sometimes led to a rush - also from Germany.
