Gann Theory Chat

Give away secrets? That's funny, I'm sitting here watching S&P hit my So9 support target of 863 and the dollar adding to the confirmation buy signal, BUT I don't pull the trigger and now sit here waiting to short AFTER the move is over (if it is to be over that is). These so-called Gann secrets are such BS. You can't make anyone trade the exact same way let alone think the same way.Trader sharing about innovative IDEAS is what makes this website work. Some times that concept gets lost but at least now we have some interesting chat sessions, starting with Surf. I fully agree with your comments about Gann being incomplete BUT Gann would have to have been a psychologist to have any REAL secrets.

Gann himself said you have to have nerve aka BALLS to trade.

And yes Gann secrets are BS and Borsellino is an idiot for having paid a lot of bucks for original Gann charts.

It was a great learning experience for me and unfortunately I had questions that I didn't see on the Chat Screen during the chat...

Back around 7 years ago, the internet wasn't so large at the time. There was no website about Gann, so I called Nikki Jones at Lambert-Gann and bought the books and courses. I didn't have a computer so I also bought chart paper from them and started charting Corn and Beans.

Soon, the internet started picking up and I started to see Internet site about Gann. At one of the sites, which is now gone, I found out that Gann had left a reading list for serious students. The bulletin board contained about 15 books in it so I went ahead and started looking for them.

Well, I was in LA at the time and there was a large meta-physical bookstore called Bodhi Tree. I found 9 of the books and started reading other books that were related to the subject. Some of the subject I read are Astrology, Music (Acoustics), Physics, Kabbalah, I-Ching, Meta-physics and Hermetics. I think by then I read about 80-90 books, thanks to my speedreading.

By then, I had a good idea about Law of Vibration. Gann Analysis and other topics started to connect. Well, I think it was around mid-1999, sacredscience.com opened up, I bought most of the courses there. First, they had a 1/2 price sale so I bought as much as I can in a limited time, also. I understood most of the stuff but I found a few more topics that I found interesting like Chaos Theory, Sacred Geometry and others.

After that, I haven't bought any Gann books. I've gone through some of the guru's website and most of them are BS. There are some that a legitimate but I really don't need them. Most of them are too biased with one idea.

So what about me now?

There's a lot I don't know about Gann, but it's not a mystic for me. It's more like creating a system for me. You come up with a new concept and apply them to your analysis. Once you apply it, you find new aspects of the older system making it new and improved. Which leads to the next which lead to the next and so forth....

would anyone care to critique this chat event? what did you think of it (honest opines only please). were the topics discussed as esoteric and inaccessible as "GANN"s bent on the ET boards??

did he romanticize, overly-philosophize, metaphiscize the topic?? :p

Thank you WD for that interesting chat you gave the other day. The most interesting thing you said was that you do not trade Gann because it does not work. The least interesting thing was the swearing. Between the two extremes there was some interesting information to be gleaned.
I was curious are you a young genius, or an old one? I get the impression you are about 25......Cathy

Heh? I did not say that I don't use Gann... you took it wrong... I re-evaluated what I wrote after the chat (eventually ended at around 7pm Eastern) but I still don't recall saying that....

I did write "Gann is BS but it works for me"

Also, I did write, chat or in FAQ, "I use a lot intuition trading intraday because of my slow brain."

I hope Andre or Baron posts the chat soon...

Also, I'm 26 years old... (same as Aphie) who is not a genius but a stupid one...
